Privacy

How MetaProc handles your data. Short version: analyses run in throwaway, EU-hosted containers, sign-in is handled by Auth0, and you should never upload identifiable patient-level data.

Last updated 14 June 2026. We may refine this policy as the service evolves; any material change will be noted here.

No identifiable patient-level data

MetaProc is a tool for aggregate, study-level meta-analysis: the summary statistics already published in papers (event counts, means, SDs, effect sizes). It is not designed for and you should not upload individual patient data or any directly identifiable personal information. Please remove identifiers before importing anything.

Ephemeral by design

Your analysis runs inside an isolated, RAM-backed container that is destroyed at the end of your session. Data you upload lives in that container's memory for the duration of your work and is not written to long-term storage by the analysis runtime. When your session ends, the container (and the data in it) is torn down. Projects you choose to save are downloaded to your own device as a .rds file — they are not stored on our servers.

Your account & login

To use the hosted app you sign in through Auth0, our authentication provider. To manage your sign-in, Auth0 stores your email address and a login identity. This is the one piece of data MetaProc keeps about you that persists between sessions; it is used only to authenticate you and to control access, and is held in the EU. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.

Hosting & sub-processors

MetaProc is hosted in the EU. The following sub-processors may handle data in the course of running the service:

CloudflareCDN, DNS, and edge deliveryGlobal edge (config in EU)

Erasure & contact

Your uploaded analysis data is ephemeral and is gone when your session ends. Your login account (email and identity, held by Auth0) persists until you ask us to remove it. To delete your account and its associated login data, or for any privacy question or concern, contact [email protected].
